The annual Greenbelt Green Man Festival was held on Mother’s Day weekend. I went on both days where I shot a bunch of photos and videos. The weather was really nice both days—it was warm but not too hot or too cold. It was just right. Here are my still pictures that I took on May 11 where there were people dressed in all kinds of funky costumes for the occasion.
Here are the videos that I shot on May 11, starting with a general shot of the entire festival. I uploaded it on TikTok, Instagram, Clapper, and YouTube.
Then I shot this footage of the Greenbelt Honk Situation playing a tune as people were dancing. I uploaded it on TikTok, Instagram, Clapper, and YouTube.
Then I shot video footage of the Greenbelt Honk Situation performing their version of The B-52s’ “Rock Lobster,” which I uploaded on TikTok, Instagram, Clapper, and YouTube.
I shot video footage of the Greenbelt Honk Situation performing their version of The Doors’ “People Are Strange,” which I uploaded on TikTok, Instagram, Clapper, and YouTube.
The last video I shot that day was of people doing some limbo dancing, which I uploaded on TikTok, Instagram, Clapper, and YouTube.
I returned on the following day where the weather was just as nice as the day before. Here are some of the photos I shot that day, starting with my photo of a David Bowie tribute band known as Totally Bowie.
Someone brought her pet boa constrictor and this boy got a chance to hold that snake.
The next two photos show just some of the handcrafted items made by local artisans that were on sale at the festival that weekend.
The last two photos are of this red Chinese dragon that was used at various times throughout the festival that weekend. (Dragon was the theme of the festival this year because this year is the Year of the Dragon.)
I only shot one video that day. It was when people were carrying the giant Chinese dragon through the festival ground at Roosevelt Center while Totally Bowie was singing “Just Dance.” I uploaded it on TikTok, Instagram, Clapper, and YouTube.
So that’s it for the 2024 Greenbelt Green Man Festival in Greenbelt, Maryland.
