A few months ago I shot this video featuring Madonna Girl Dale when she gave her last-ever public dance performance along Ritchie Highway (Maryland Route 2) just prior to moving to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Since then she has resettled in her new hometown and, based on her social media posts, she seems to be doing the same thing that she used to do in Brooklyn Park, Maryland—strutting along major highways dancing to Madonna music while openly flirting with cops and firefighters. (She seems to have a thing for men in uniform. The only thing about her fixation is that there have been too many cases of transgender people who have been victims of police brutality but that’s another story entirely.)

Last night I was perusing Instagram when I got this direct message from Madonna Girl Dale out of the blue. She had recently participated in a Toys for Tots drive where she donated a few toys and posed for photos alongside some local firefighters. (I think it was a fire station that sponsored this event.) She posted a few photos from that event on Instagram. She asked me if I would make a slideshow out of those photos and set them to Madonna music. I decided to do it mainly because I had gotten plenty of mileage out of making last summer’s documentary. It was no big deal doing a quick video project.

I did the whole thing in iMovie. As for finding a Madonna song, I have to admit that I don’t own much of her music. I have The Immaculate Collection CD (which consists of her greatest hits from the 1980s) but that CD is buried in a box of my other CDs and I wasn’t in the mood to dig through that box searching for it. I looked on iTunes and found that I had a couple of Madonna songs on it. One was “Hey You” which I remember was a song that Madonna did for that controversial Live Earth event twelve years ago and it was one that I downloaded for free when the song was briefly offered as a free download on iTunes. I forgot I had it when I found it.

So I used “Hey You,” slapped those pictures together and uploaded the whole thing online. Here it is in all of its one-minute glory.
