Six months out of the year there is a Farmer’s Market that’s held in the parking lot at Roosevelt Center in Greenbelt, Maryland every Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. where one can purchase fresh produce, eggs from free range chickens, honey, locally produced ice cream, locally made soap, and even locally made bottles of wine. One Sunday I saw an artist named Tom Baker try to do a painting of the Farmer’s Market and he continued painting even as the vendors started packing after the official 2 p.m. closing time.
